Selection of Cutter Edge Profiles

The selec tion o f cu t te r edge p ro files depends on different geological conditions. There are mainly three types of cutter rings:


1.Tungsten Carbide Insert (TCI ) Edge :

Suitable for highly and moderately weathered sandstone, granite, basalt, porphyry and quartzite formations with a strength of <90MPa. It is characterized by excellent wear resistance.


2. Standard Edge :

Widely applicable to various types of conglomerate, marble, sandstone, limestone and granite formations. It can also be used in cases where theexcavation face is fractured or the geological conditions are uneven. It is characterized by wide adaptability but slightly poor wear resistance.


3. Heavy-duty Edge :

Suitable for hard rock formations with a strength of 120-250MPa, such as granite, diorite, porphyry, serpentine and basalt formations. It features high hardness but slightly poor toughness. It requires a uniform excavation face and is not suitable for formations with strong impacts such as fracture zones or karst caves.
